Wave Rider

What a very eye-catching piece. The borders puts me in the mind of a cut scene in a movie or game. I feel like I'm waiting for him to come ashore to proceed with some unfinished business.

The color palette you chose really all blend together harmoniously, and the lights and darks flow together. I also like how solid the anatomy of this creature is; It's very well-rounded and dynamic.

I do see one fairly noticeable problem with this drawing. The tail placement is very strange. I don't think the creature could have made that sharp a turn in the water for the tail to make an S shape like that. Perhaps you could have curved it vertically as opposed to horizontal to mimic the up-and-down motion of the waves.
